Taste for culinary travel growing - I love good food, and tend to always plan my trips around dining experiences and try to make an effort to eat something I can't get at home. I came across this article on the Seattle Times, it talks about how Americans are becoming more interested in gourmet food and when traveling to a foreign country they prefer a culinary tour rather than a cultural or historical one. They are eager to check out local food markets, shop at specialty stores, dine at fine restaurants, and take a cooking course...Perhaps the reason for this is that good food and good company makes great memories. I have lots of great food memories but one of my most recent and favourite was breakfast at Benediction: a buzzing café in Auckland, New Zealand with a warehouse-like interior serving up delicious food and lattes. Their signature breakfast is a must, eggs benedicts w/bacon or "BENNY'S" is what they call them...what a wonderful treat! Michelin Takes A Bite Of The Big Apple - The French Michelin Red Guide goes to America. The Hudson Valley Wine & Food Fest - A celebration of wine, food and music. A good mix of ingredients - Two information technology guys working in the high-tech world want out, so they toss around ideas for a restaurant. Posted by Ant @ Friday, September 2, 2005 | Permalink
